Hi again friend,
It’s been a little bit! I find myself being so busy with trying to get my art therapy business off the ground that I don’t check in as much as I’d like. But today I have a little extra time and wanted to catch up.
I find that, in February, the days all melt together until they’re indistinguishable from one another. The good thing about that is that the month goes quickly. I try to find the beauty in every month, but February always feels like a drag to me. It could be because all I want at this point in the year is for spring to come—but I’m trying to be fine in the moment, too.

I’ve been reading more than I have in recent months, and spent the other day walking through the library, choosing books at random that looked and sounded good. Unpopular opinion, but I love going into books with little to no idea of what they’re about. Sometimes I’ll read the synopsis; sometimes I’ll flip open to a random page and see if I like the writing style. It means that not every book is a winner, but I’m okay with that.

I also started a painting for the first time in forever! I didn’t finish it yet, but the fact that I even started it is amazing. So excited to keep working on it!
I’ve also been trying to get back to sewing projects I’ve been putting off, including making alterations on clothes I already own. I had a number of shirts that I realized I disliked, but after making some changes, love them again.
Finally, I started working on my novel again—as of last night I’m at 52,682 words! I’ll be writing again tonight, and hopefully most nights until the first draft is finished. It’s so close!
Time for me to sign off for the day. I hope the rest of yours is warm and relaxing.
Stay cozy,
Catherine
P.S. how has February been for you?
