finding joy in beauty today

no. 7: january 3, 2024

Hi again friend,

I hope you’ve spent the first few days of 2024 relaxing, spending time with people you love, and thinking about what you want this year to look like for you.

I’ve been working hard the last few days setting up my business, but also revamping some things on my personal website and substack, palace ancestors. I had an epiphany on new years day, and let’s just say it led to a lot of changes. But more on that next week!

Today I wanted to share my Ins and Outs for 2024.

In:

  • Long, meandering walks (even if it’s raining)
  • Slower reading
  • Cooking more meals from scratch
  • Long, drawn out coffee dates
  • Writing little love notes
  • Noticing more of the little things
  • Bringing a book wherever I go
  • Letting go of control
  • More time reading in libraries
  • Being in the moment
  • Being authentic everywhere

Out:

  • Caring about what my hair looks like
  • Spending more time on emails than I should
  • Reading books I’m feeling ehh about
  • Thrifting more books when I need to read the ones I already own
  • Trying to make things a certain way
  • Eating chips when I really want a whole ass meal (ADHD friends, you know what it’s like)

What are your Ins and Outs for 2024?

Stay cozy,

Catherine

Stay cozy,

Catherine

P.S. what are you hoping to experience this year?
