no. 1: december 21, 2023

Hi there! Welcome to my little corner of the internet.

I’ve been thinking recently that I wanted to make this website a little more personal—a little more me—for a couple months now. I love writing blog posts, and those will continue, but I wanted to create a space where I can note down thoughts, and feelings, and general happenings of any given day.

By chance, I stumbled on kening zhu’s website, and fell in love. Everything about it is so homey, so cozy, and so gentle. This is all I’ve ever wanted (for myself, and for anything I touch in this world).

And so, this journal is born.

I want this space to feel personal, like I’m writing in my journal; I want it to feel like you and I are sitting down to chat in a coffee shop, or have settled under a tree together to watch the world go by. I want it to be cozy, and gentle, and real, and a little messy. Because life is messy!

More than anything, I love documenting my life. I already write in my paper journal every day, but I want to move these thoughts and ideas over here, where I can easily click through and see what I was doing or thinking about on any given day. I want to know the weather, what I was reading, how many birds I saw.

I’m looking forward to adding to this space. Since it’s going to be personal and (very, very) informal, I’m hoping I can get something down—even something small—every day or two or three. Whatever it is, it’ll be exactly what it needs to be at that moment.

Anyway, looking forward to these coffee dates, just the two of us. I’ll see you soon.
