Hello dear readers,

I write to you from my kitchen desk on what feels like the first day of spring (despite it still being winter). It’s late afternoon and the sun is shining through the windows onto my back, and I would love nothing more than to lie down in a patch of sun and sleep for a while.

Part of this comes from the two hours of work I just did in the garden¹, but also because it is Sunday when I write this, and I’m always tired on Sunday. Today’s post will be one of those mish-mashes of a bunch of thoughts and ideas, included in list form, because I do love a good list. 

Let’s get started:

• I’ve decided to resurrect my patreon as a place to share more in-depth notes on my writing progress and process each week—the first post will be out next Sunday, March 8th. There will also be lots of fun goodies, such as looks at current works in progress (& audio clips of me reading that writing), and free ebooks, audiobooks, and signed physical copies of my poetry books. And shop discounts! I’ll still do writing updates here on my blog, as I have been doing, but patreon will be where we get into the nitty-gritty details².
• I was clicking around on the back end of my website yesterday and discovered that a disproportionate number of my website views are coming from Mountain View, California. I’m not sure why that is, but hello to the hundreds of you who have been viewing my website!
• Through my clicking around, I also found out that my posts haven’t shown up in the WordPress reader since the end of December, which is frustrating. I’ve chatted with someone and they said they’d try and fix it. I’m hoping they can!
• Friday night saw me craving chocolate cake, and so I baked a wacky cake with coffee frosting. So far, I have eaten about half of it.
• I spent about two hours in the garden earlier today, and have come up with a grand scheme for what I’ll be doing. It involves wrought iron fences, a pond, and digging up existing bark mulch. I do believe I’ll have my work cut out for me this year.
• I keep coming up with ideas for new stickers I’d like to make, but then I spend all my time writing.. so, really, this is just to say that there will be new stickers up in the next month or so.
• As always, I am so turned off by social media³. I would love it if the internet was as it was before, and we didn’t have endless options for sharing online. Please, I just want to blog!
• I’m taking forever on this project, but I’m currently knitting a mossy green tank top. It has three stripes across the chest: brown on the outside, then orange in the center. I’m hoping to sit down tonight and get a bunch done—I only have about half of the back left to do.
• I’m re-reading (though on audiobook) Erin Morgenstern’s The Starless Sea. I do have the physical book, but I kind of like having an audiobook on the go that I can pop on when I’m cleaning or driving. So far, I love it just as much as the first time. I still have about seventeen hours to listen to.
• I ate an entire container of caramelized onion hummus earlier today. I feel like I can take on the world.

¹ Weeding, scheming, moving campanula and bluebells. It feels as though the gardening season has finally begun, and as always, I am more than ready for it.

² Basically, I love that my blog covers a bunch of different areas of my life; I never want to limit what I write about to one thing. Patreon is a way for me to focus just on one thing (writing) while also going a lot deeper into it than I usually do on my blog. 

³ Unfortunately, for anyone to market themselves in this day and age, you need to not just be on multiple social apps, but be active if you hope to grow as an artist. It’s frustrating, because I truly do just want to write my blog and chat with people through comments/emails. I do not want instagram, or bluesky, or any other social media app! And yet they are necessary. C’est la vie.
