Hello dear readers,
This is just a short update for you, because something exciting happened last week: I finished the first draft of my novel! I hadn’t expected to complete it quite so soon, but everything aligned and it’s finished.
I went back and forth on posting about this because I just did a writing-related post last week, but I’m also terrible at celebrating my achievements, so here’s me doing so:
The first draft is done!! Even if it’s rough, and the next draft will see a lot of new material added, this first iteration is complete. The bones of the story are there—now it needs to be built up and polished.
As I mentioned in my last post, my revisions right now will be a hybrid first/second draft workings, because I added a new character quite late in the first draft who needs to be written into the majority of the book.
But for now, I’m happy that I can say the story is in place—even if it’s going to look entirely different after a few more drafts.
